It's tough for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have already been conquered.

This is the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a side that has achieved everything.

The fact it required until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the pitchers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's challenging for their batsmen to hold a record if not provided the opportunity.

Ultimately, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a platform to produce her newest gem.

Originally famous as the teenage relative of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have come from 10 attempts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "drove us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy commented earlier.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

If this latest epic knock surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Some will argue the case for championship match pressure. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it was a frustrating experience because I feel like I've had no rhythm at all," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts take over and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has continuously been her key asset - and a priceless quality in taking over from iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and from there the right-hander was underway.

"A chance to go out there and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

Once she was out Australia required another 66 at one run per ball - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the assurance to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we know we can do it."

That comment will be the last Australia's opponents at this championship need to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this victory coming after win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

During that phase they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at an important competition.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

But while she later admitted those injuries have delayed plans to retire, this championship is anticipated as her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as skipper.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
